The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Ludvig Persson has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Miami University Redhawks in the NCHC.
Persson, 20, is currently in his first season playing in the NAHL and has established himself as one of the league’s top goaltenders. On Monday, Persson was named as the NAHL’s South Division Star of the Week.
The 6’1/183 lbs. native of Gothenburg, Sweden, backstopped the Brahmas to a 2-0 win on Friday over the visiting Topeka Pilots, which tied him for the league shutout lead with six.
For the season, Persson is tied for 3rd in the NAHL in wins (16) and ranks 4th in both goals against average (1.56) and save percentage (.936).
Persson is the 9th player from the 2019-20 Brahmas roster who has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey.
