Friday Finals: Blizzard win part of several streaks snapped

Topeka Pilots and Team NAHL forward Austin McCarthy had a hat-trick in an 8-2 win on Friday night.

St. Cloud 5 @ Minot 2 - Brady Bjork’s hat trick led the St. Cloud Blizzard to a 5-2 victory over the Minot Minotauros on Friday night. Max Johnson and Ryan Green also scored for the Blizzard in the win. Luke Aquaro chipped in two assists. Sam Metcalf earned his second win of the season as he made 39 saves. Cole Hanson and Cade Stibbe netted goals for Minot while Ben Garrity stopped 29 shots. 
 
Bismarck 1 @ Aberdeen 5 - The Aberdeen Wings won their fifth straight game and moved to within one point of first place in the Central Division as they dismantled the Bismarck Bobcats 5-1. Mack Byers scored once and added two assists. Jake Beaune, Clayton Cosentino, Natan Vertes and Jakob Breault all lit the lamp for the Wings. Jake Sibell turned aside 26 shots to earn the win in goal. Daniel Chladek scored the lone goal for Bismarck while Ryan Ullan took the loss as he made 26 saves.
 
Topeka 8 @ Odessa 2 - Austin McCarthy recorded a hat trick while Vincent Corcoran registered a goal and two assists as the Topeka Pilots routed the Odessa Jackalopes 8-2. Dominic Sandoval, Shawn Kennedy, Matthew Francois and Kaiden Scott all scored in the win for the Pilots. Guy Blessing picked up his fifth win of the season as he made 31 saves. Connor Scahill and Matt Hutton scored goals for Odessa. Aaron Randazzo was dealt the loss, he made 41 saves.
 
Amarillo 2 @ Lone Star 1 - Jackson Boxer’s first NAHL goal stood as the game winner as the Amarillo Bulls defeated the Lone Star Brahmas 2-1. Devan Tongue scored the other Amarillo goal with help from Jordan Venegoni. Max Gutjahr stopped 25 shots to grab the win in goal. Joey Baez scored the lone goal for Lone Star. Cayden Bailey stopped 20 of 22 shots in the loss. 
 
Janesville 1 @ Fairbanks 2 - Goals from Brendan Murphy and Tim Erkkila erased a 1-0 deficit for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and led them to a 2-1 victory over the Janesville Jets. Tyler Deweese, Barak Braslavski, Luke Ciolli and Nathan Butler all picked up helpers for Fairbanks. Mattias Sholl made 22 saves to pick up his 13th win of the year. Luke Wheeler scored for the Jets while Grant Riley made 28 saves.

MN Magicians 6 @ Kenai River 4 - The Minnesota Magicians snapped the Brown Bears 10-game winning streak as they scored four goals in the final period to defeat Kenai River 6-4. Sasha Shogren, Joey Foss and Josh Bohlin all had a goal and an assist for the Magicians. Nick Lanigan, Lucas Kanta and Jonathan Ziskie all chipped in goals as well. Samuel Vyletelka made 49 saves to earn the win. Porter Schachle, Theo Thrun and Cody Moline all had a goal and an assist for Kenai River. Brandon Lajoie also put the puck in the back of the net. Landon Pavlisin stopped 48 shots in the loss for the Brown Bears.
 
New Jersey 2 @ Maryland 4 - Andrew Takacs made 38 saves to lead the Maryland Black Bears to a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Titans. Ethan Heidepriem led the offense with a goal and an assist. Jackson Sterrett, Luke Mountain and Kyle Oleksiuk also found the back of the net for Maryland. Mitch Machlitt and Daniel Dimon tallied goals for the Titans in the loss while Patrick Pugliese made 44 saves.
 
Johnstown 1 @ Jamestown 3 - Noah West was nearly perfect as the Jamestown Rebels topped the Johnstown Tomahawks by a score of 3-1. Jordan Cormier netted his fifth of the season while Nick Siffringer scored his third of the season and Liam Hansson added his fourth. Carson Gallagher lit the lamp for his 14th of the year and it was the only offense the Tomahawks would be able to muster. David Tomeo took the loss in net as he made 26 saves. 
 
MN Wilderness 5 @ Austin 6 - Connor Mylymok potted a pair of goals and assists as the Austin Bruins outlasted the Minnesota Wilderness 6-5. Ben Almquist also found himself on the scoresheet twice while Hugh Larkin and Peter Jacobs also scored. Brett Miller and Tyler Shea team up to make 10 saves for the Bruins. Jacob Herter led the Wilderness with a pair of goals. Nathan Adrian, Kimball Johnson and Garrett Worth all found the back of the net in the loss. Kaleb Johnson denied 28 shots in a losing effort. 
 
New Mexico 3 @ Corpus Christi 4 (SO) - Justin Thompson scored the only goal of the shootout as the Corpus Christi IceRays squeaked by the New Mexico Ice Wolves in a shootout, 4-3. Ryan Coughlin was all over the ice as he tallied a goal and two assists for the IceRays. Tod Philibert and Erik Bargholtz also scored for IceRays. Jeremy Forman made 26 saves and stopped all four shooters he faced in the shootout. Taylor Ewing found the back of the net twice for New Mexico while Sean Henry notched a goal and an assist. Josh Graziano took the loss in goal as he made 36 saves. 
 
Springfield 1 @ Chippewa 3 - Grant Boldt turned in a stellar performance as he stopped 26 of 27 shots for Chippewa to earn the win over Springfield. Braiden Dorfman got on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist. Killian Kiecker-Olson and Jaden Grant each scored as well for the Steel. Max Osborne provided the only offense for the Springfield Jr. Blues. Alex Proctor was dealt the loss despite making 29 saves.
