The Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jimmy Doyle has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for St. Lawrence University of the ECAC.

Doyle, 17, is in his first season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Magicians. The 6’2/185 lbs. native of Plainfield, Illinois, is 2nd on the team in scoring so far during the 2019-20 season with 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 17 games played.

Doyle made his announcement on Twitter: “I am blessed to announce my commitment to play Division 1 college hockey and further my academic career at St. Lawrence University! Huge thanks to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends that have always supported me! #GoSaints.”

“We are very happy for Jimmy making a decision on where he wants to play. He has proved he can take a step in junior hockey this year and has been an influential player for us. He has a bright future and we are glad to be apart of it,” said Magicians head coach AJ Bucchino.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Doyle played youth hockey for the Chicago Mission.
