November 17, 2019

Tyler Love assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Corpus Christi 2 @ Odessa 1 - The Corpus Christi IceRays recorded a 2-1 win in the lone NAHL game on Sunday to close a three-game weekend against the Odessa Jackalopes at the Ector County Coliseum. Justin Thompson scored his second game-winning goal in as many nights and Jeff Bertrand recorded two points for the IceRays

After a scoreless first period, Odessa’s Vilho Saariluoma lit the lamp 3:25 into the second period. Later in the frame, the IceRays scored twice in an 88-second span. Bertrand, acquired this week from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, scored his first goal for Corpus Christi, and fourth of the season, with a power-play tally at 17:24. Thompson then notched the game-winner at 18:52 off assists from Bertrand and Tyler Love.

The Jackalopes pulled goaltender Aaron Randazzo late but were unable to tie the game. Corpus Christi’s Cal Sandquist stopped 37 of 38 shots faced from the Jackalopes, while Randazzo made 44 saves in the losing effort for the Jackalopes.
