September 24, 2019
The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Brody Medeiros has committed to play NCAA Division I Ice Hockey for the United States Military Academy (Army West Point) Black Knights, who play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHC). His commitment begins in the fall of 2020.
Medeiros, 20, is in his second season with the Titans. Last year, Medeiros had 23 points (5 goals and 18 assists) in 60 regular season games. So far during the 2019-20 season, the 6’0/200 lbs. native of Littleton, Colorado has two points (1 goal and 1 assist) in six games.
“I am extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to play hockey at West Point as well as to serve my country,” stated Medeiros. “I’m so grateful to the coaches who have mentored me growing up, the entire Titans organization, especially Craig and Bob, and most of all my family. I could not have done this without their support. I’m incredibly excited to be a Black Knight.”
Medeiros was selected to and played for Team NAHL at the 2019 Sirius Ice Hockey World Cup in Sochi, Russia, back in August. He was also selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the East Division team.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Brody,” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Brody came to New Jersey with the vision of helping us win a Robertson Cup while achieving his dream of playing NCAA Division 1 hockey. He has worked on and off the ice to improve as a player and we are thrilled that Army offered him this spot. Army is getting a special young man in Brody. In addition to his on-ice abilities his character and maturity are a perfect fit with Army. We know Brody will successful on the ice and campus at West Point. We are excited to have him continue to lead our team this season as we pursue a Robertson Cup.”
Army West Point is in West Point, NY. The Black Knights are coached by Brian Riley. Last season Army West Point had an 8-13-7 record for 23 points.
