Odessa defenseman makes NCAA commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Brendan Coughlin has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lake Forest College.
Coughlin, 21, just completed his final season of junior hockey with the Jackalopes in the NAHL. The 6’1/190 lbs. native of Dallas, Texas, played in 58 games during the 2018-19 regular season and recorded eight points (5 goals, 3 assists), along with 129 penalty minutes.
Coughlin is a NAPHL to NAHL ladder of development success story, having previously played in the NAPHL during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons for the HC Dallas 16U and 18U teams.
In 45 career NAPHL games, Coughlin recorded four points. He also played in the 2016 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament for the West team.
He is the 10th player from the 2018-19 Jackalopes roster that has made an NCAA commitment this season.
