The Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Alex Wilkins committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for SUNY-Geneseo.
Wilkins, 20, just completed his season season of junior hockey and first playing in the NAHL. The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, recorded 30 points (5 goals, 25 assists) in 56 games played during the 2018-19 regular season. He also added four points in 13 playoff games.
Wilkins was also selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the East Division team.
“We only had Alex in Johnstown for one season, but he was everything we were looking for when he came here. He brought a tremendous two-way game from the back end for us contributing in a variety of ways while providing strong veteran leadership and incredible competitive fire. He is going to be an outstanding addition to Geneseo,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia.
The Geneseo Knights, located in Geneseo, New York, play in the State University of New York Athletic Conference and are part of the NCAA Division III.
