The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Max Salpeter has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The 6’4/210 lbs. native of St. Albert, Alberta, was the Wings 2nd draft pick in the 2018 NAHL Entry Draft. Salpeter also was selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team.
“Max has brought a great deal of maturity and leadership to this team. He is a steady strong defenseman that takes a lot of pride in defending. Max will be a very good college hockey player,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to play for the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire. I would like to thank the entire Aberdeen Wings Organization, Coach Langer, Coach Hill, The Odde Family, my teammates, my billets, and most importantly my family for allowing me to have this opportunity and for their constant support. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me,” said Salpeter.
The University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire is located in Eau-Claire, WI. They play DIII Hockey and are members of the WIAC Conference. This past season they had an overall record of 19-7-2 and fell in the WIAC Championship Game to the eventual National Champion UW-Stevens Point 3-2.
