Knights close playoff gap with 2-0 win on Sunday

March 4, 2019

Knights goalie Jacob Urban had a 26-save shutout in his season debut on Sunday.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2 @ Northeast 0 – Newly acquired goalie Jacob Urban stopped all 26 shots that came his way for a shutout in his NAHL season debut as the Knights blanked the Generals, 2-0 to claim the rubber match of the three-game series this weekend. With the win, the Knights now sit one point behind the Generals with 12 games to play in the season for the 4th and final playoff spot in the East Division. Tyrone Bronte scored just five minutes into the game on an unassisted goal to give the Knights the lead and eventual win. Northeast goalie David Fessenden would hold the Knights at bay the rest of the game with 22 saves, but the Generals could not find the equalizer. Gabe Temple added an empty-net goal late in the 3rd period to secure the 2-0 win. Boxscore
