Seven teams pick up Saturday sweeps

Colorado College recruit Sam Antenucci played a big role in helping the Brookings Blizzard pick up a weekend road sweep against the Minnesota Wilderness.

MN Magicians 7 @ Janesville 2 - The Minnesota Magicians picked up a crucial sweep of the Janesville Jets as they took care of business on Saturday night, winning 7-2. John Keranen was the star of the show as he had two goals and two assists. Cameron Buhl was just as deadly, scoring once and adding three helpers. Joey Pavey, Chris Konin, Jake Hale and Carter Breitenfeldt all found twine in the win. Ethan Haider and Jack Robbel each made 14 saves, with Haider earning the win. Brendan Olson and Tommy Middleton scored for the Jets in the loss. Sam Metcalf made 29 saves.
 
Brookings 2 @ MN Wilderness 1 - The Brookings Blizzard grabbed their first sweep of the season as they held off a late charge from the Minnesota Wilderness, winning 2-1. Cater Krogman scored the game’s opening goal and Antony Szurlej’s first of the year proved to be the game winner. Jack Caruso was nearly unbeatable, allowing just one goal on 26 shots. Blake Holmes scored his first NAHL goal but it wasn't enough as the Minnesota rally fell short. Ryan Fanti took the loss in the crease, he made 26 saves.
 
Aberdeen 4 @ Bismarck 0 - Joe Strada lit the lamp twice and assisted on another goal as the Aberdeen Wings ran their winning streak to 16 games after blanking the Bismarck Bobcats 4-0. John Sladic and Thomas Rocco also found the back of the net as well. Matt Vernon was a unbeatable tonight and now leads the league with five shutouts. Atticus Kelly made 23 saves in the loss for Bismarck.
 
Corpus Christi 2 @ Lone Star 3 - The Lone Star Brahmas are heating up at the right time as they have now won four in a row. They defeated the Corpus Christi IceRays 3-2 as Joey Baez potted a pair of goals for Lone Star. Frank Trazzera picked up his seventh goal of the season as well. Seth Eisele got his second win of the weekend, he made 38 saves including 20 in the final period. Kyle Moore and Jake Stella found the scoresheet for the IceRays. Keegan Karki made 19 saves.
 
Austin 2 @ Minot 3 - The Minot Minotauros jumped into third place in the Central Division as they completed their sweep of the Austin Bruins, winning on Saturday night, 3-2. Connor McGinnis, Kevin Ness and Cole O’Connell provided the offense for Minot. Ben Garrity was superb in goal as he allowed just two goals on 35 shots. Che Landikusic and Lane Krenzen tallied goals for Austin. Brett Miller made 35 saves in the loss. 
 
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2 @ Johnstown 3 (OT) - For the second straight night, the Johnstown Tomahawks found a way in overtime. This time it was Bennett Stockdale who was hailed as the hero. His goal at the 1:13 mark of the extra period gave the Tomahawks a 3-2 victory. Carson Briere led all skaters with three points. Alex Wilkins also scored for the second consecutive night. Cooper Lukenda got the win in goal as he made 20 saves. Jake Fuss and Anthony Mastromonica each scored for the Knights while Zach Stejskal made 41 saves in the loss.
 
Springfield 2 @ Kenai River 1 - The Springfield Jr. Blues finished their three game sweep of the Kenai River Brown Bears by winning 2-1 on Saturday night. Aaron Swanson and Nikita Kozyrev were the goal scorers for Springfield while Janis Voris denied 23 Kenai River opportunities. Johan Bok netted the only goal for the Brown Bears. Gavin Enright was given the loss, he made 17 saves. 
 
Jamestown 2 @ New Jersey 0 - Ryan Keane was a brick wall on Saturday night as he denied all 32 New Jersey shots en route to a 2-0 Jamestown win. Alex Roy had a goal and an assist and Ian Carpenter also found the back of the net. Ryan Winter was stuck with the loss as he made 25 saves.
 
Northeast 2 @ Maryland 3 (OT) - Jonathan Young scooped up a loose puck, took it in all alone and buried the game-winning goal past David Fessenden as the Maryland Black Bears scored a 3-2 victory in overtime. Patrick Choi and Daylon Mannon also scored for Maryland in the win. Anthony Del Tufo picked up the win in the cage as he made 30 stops. Dylan Schuett and Louis Boudon lit the lamp for Northeast and Fessenden made 28 saves. 
 
Odessa 3 @ Topeka 4 - Kyler Yeo’s three points led the Topeka Pilots to their second win in a row as once again they bounced the Odessa Jackalopes 4-3. Quinn Green, Hugh Quinn and Brendan Schultz all got on the scoresheet for the Pilots. Emil Gransoe picked up win number 13 as he made 34 saves. Jared Christy, Patrick Dawson and Zach Heintz were the goal scorers for Odessa. 
 
Shreveport 2 @ Amarillo 6 - The Amarillo Bulls bounced back in a big way on Saturday, after losing 6-0 on Friday night to Shreveport, the Bulls responded with a 6-2 victory of their own. Gabriel Seger had two goals and three assists. Logan Jenuwine had two goals and two assists as well. Alex Peterson notched a pair of goals as well. Justin Evenson was the beneficiary in net as he got the win after making 23 saves. C.J. Regular and Timothy Clifton each had a goal and an assist for the Mudbugs. Leo Chuard was given the loss despite making 37 saves.
 
Chippewa 3 @ Fairbanks 6 - John Stampohar had three assists and six different Ice Dogs found the back of the net on Saturday night as Fairbanks took two of three against the Chippewa Steel. Luke Mobley, Luke Ciolli, Jax Murray, Laker Aldridge, Tyler Deweese and Grant Ledford all scored for Fairbanks. Nate Reid was victorious in goal as he made 19 saves. Jacob Dirks scored twice and added an assist. Camden Thiesing also lit the lamp for the Steel. Josh Langford finished the night with 24 saves.
