Friday Finals: Wings stay hot with 15th straight win

Ethan Harrison scored two goals to help the Shreveport Mudbugs pick up a 6-0 win in Amarillo on Friday night.

Aberdeen 7 @ Bismarck 1 - The Aberdeen Wings improved their winning streak to 15 games as they took care of the Bismarck Bobcats, winning 7-1. John Sladic, Brad Belisle and Adam Pitters all finished the night with three pints. Riley Murphy scored two goals while Joe Strada and Thomas Rocco each had a goal and an assist. For Strada, his points in the game set a new franchise point and career mark. Matt Vernon was great again as he made 24 saves to win his league leading 24th game. Alex Pollock scored the lone goal for Bismarck. Atticus Kelly made 25 stops for the Bobcats.
 
Shreveport 6 @ Amarillo 0 - It was all Shreveport on Friday night as the Mudbugs routed the Amarillo Bulls 6-0. Ethan Harrison ended the night with two goals. Anton Rubtsov, Warren Natyshak, Timothy Clifton and Jacob Skolnik all lit the lamp as well for the Mudbugs. Leo Chuard made 43 saves to earn his second shutout of the year. Jason Grande and Justin Evenson combined for 29 saves. 
 
Chippewa 4 @ Fairbanks 5 - John Stampohar’s goal with 3:09 remaining was the difference as the Fairbanks Ice Dogs outlasted the Chippewa Steel, winning Friday’s contest 5-4. Laker Aldridge lite the lamp twice and Jack Johnston also found twine in the Fairbanks victory. Mattias Sholl made 18 stops to pick up the win in goal. Grant Reichenbacher finished with two goals and an assist while Killian Kiecker-Olson also netted two goals. Igor Samokhvalov was dealt the loss despite making 42 saves.
 
Springfield 3 @ Kenai River 1 - The Springfield Jr. Blues received goals from Sam Sterne, Nikita Kozyrev and Aaron Swanson as they defeated the Kenai River Brown Bears by a score of 3-1. Janis Voris was nearly perfect as he made 26 saves in net for the Jr. Blues. Markuss Komuls scored the only goal for the Brown Bears. Gavin Enright turned aside 33 Springfield shots.
 
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 @ Johnstown 2 (OT) - Alex Wilkins was the hero in overtime as his goal at the 3:53 mark of the extra period gave the Johnstown Tomahawks a 2-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Wilkins also picked up an assist on Oliver Benwell’s power play goal in the second period. Zak Currie scored the only goal for the Knights with Anthony Mastromonica and Evan Orr picking up the assists. Carter McPhail was your winner in goal with 24 saves. Zach Stejskal stopped 35 shots in the loss.
 
Jamestown 4 @ New Jersey 5 (SO) - Newcome Mitch Machlitt scored the game-deciding goal in the shootout to lift the New Jersey Titans to a 5-4 come-from-behind win against the Jamestown Rebels. Ryan Naumovski’s second goal of the game tied things up with just 1:26 remaining in regulation. Michael Outzen and Kyler Head also found the back of the net for the Titans. Alex Frye scored twice and added a helper for Jamestown. Connor Linton and Niki Jasko tallied goals as well. Brandon Perrone got the win in the blue paint as he made 46 saves. Noah West turned aside 36 chances for the Rebels.
 
MN Magicians 5 @ Janesville 2 - The Minnesota Magicians picked up two crucial points as they defeated the Janesville Jets 5-2. John Keranen, TJ Sagissor and Cameron Buhl all had a goal and an assist. Chris Konin and Ben Schultheis also lit the lamp as well. Jack Robbel picked up the win as he made 32 saves. Erik Palmqvist and Tommy Middleton tallied goals for the Jets, Cole Brady made 25 saves.
 
Brookings 5 @ MN Wilderness 4 (OT) - Owen Belisle’s goal in overtime propelled the Brookings Blizzard to a 5-4 overtime win against the Minnesota Wilderness. Sam Antenucci and Ryan Green each potted a pair in regulation for Brookings. George McBey got the win in relief as he made 22 saves. Jack Johnson, Luke Dow, Isaac Kobienia and Oula Kuure all scored for Minnesota. Kaleb Johnson took the loss in net, he made 30 saves.
 
Odessa 3 @ Topeka 4 (OT) - Austin McCarthy got the puck just over the goal line to give the Topeka Pilots a thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Odessa Jackalopes. Quinn Green, Connor Zilisch and Valdemar Ahlberg scored for the Pilots in the first three periods. Emil Gransoe grabbed the win as he denied 35 Odessa shots. Connor Fedorek, Connor Smith, and Brendan Coughlin found the back of the net for the Jacks. Alex Camarre was given the loss as he made 37 stops. 
 
Corpus Christi 1 @ Lone Star 5 - The Lone Star Brahmas had five different players tally goals in a 5-1 win over the Corpus Christi IceRays. Joey Baez, Josh Martin, Noah Roofe, Clayton Lackey and Jake Suede all found twine in this one. Seth Eisele picked up his sixth win of the year as he made 28 saves. Matthew Headland grabbed the only goal for the IceRays and Brian George stopped 20 shots. 
 
Austin 0 @ Minot 2 - Ben Garrity stopped all 35 shots thrown his way as his second shutout of the year gave the Minot Minotauros a 2-0 win over the Austin Bruins. Joseph Harguindeguy’s third of the season was the eventual game winning goal while Kevin Ness added the insurance tally late in the third. Kyle McClellan made 31 saves in a losing effort for the Bruins.
