Central Division Star of the Week: Shawn Kennedy, forward, Aberdeen Wings

Thanks to a weekend home sweep of the Chippewa Steel, the Aberdeen Wings now sit just a point out of 1st place in the Central Division. This past weekend it was Shawn Kennedy’s time to shine. The 6’0/188 lbs. forward from Bainsville, Ontario, was a big factor in the sweep, totaling 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists) in the two wins to go along with a +5 rating. Kennedy, 19, had a goal and assist in a 9-3 win on Friday and then on Saturday he recorded a hat-trick, which included the game-winning goal, and also added three assists in a 12-3 win. For the season, Kennedy has 18 points in 21 games played. “Shawn’s play as of late has been outstanding. He is playing with an abundance of confidence and it showed this past weekend.
