Saturday Scores: Tomahawks win 15th straight with OT thriller

Jim Glynn had four points in a weekend sweep as the Jamestown Rebels moved their winning streak to four straight games.

Northeast 2 @ Johnstown 3 (OT) - Carson Briere’s league leading 17th goal of the season came in overtime and extended the Johnstown Tomahawks’ winning streak to 15 games as Johnstown took a 3-2 decision over the Northeast Generals. Austin Friesen and Hunter Toale picked up goals for the Tomahawks in regulation. Carter McPhail once again earned the victory in between the pipes as he made 26 saves. Louis Boudon and Michael Higgins scored for the Generals and David Fessenden made 32 saves in a losing effort.
 
Maryland 0 @ Jamestown 4 - The Rebels had four different goal scorers and Noah West pitched a shutout as Jamestown completed the weekend sweep of Maryland with a 4-0 win. Colin Schmidt and Jim Glynn each had a goal and an assist for Jamestown. Antonio Venuto and Jake Felker each had a goal as well for the Rebels. Noah West made 21 saves for his fourth win and first shutout of the year. David Tomeo took the loss for Maryland, he made 30 stops.
 
Brookings 1 @ Bismarck 4 - The Bismarck Bobcats finished the weekend sweep of the Brookings Blizzard with a 4-1 win on Saturday. Mitch Walinski, Austin Jouppi, Ryan Taylor and Kirklan Irey netted goals for the Bobcats in victory. Atticus Kelly made 29 saves for Bismarck to improve to 2-0. Sam Antenucci scored the lone goal for Brookings while George McBey and Jack Caruso combined for 22 saves.
 
Janesville 3 @ Springfield 2 - For the second straight night, the Janesville Jets took down the Springfield Jr. Blues 3-2. Jack Vincent scored two goals but it was Sean Driscoll who scored the eventual game winner. It was his second goal of the season. Brandon Puricelli and Max Brainin provided the offense for Springfield in the defeat. Cole Brady picked up the win in between the pipes as he made 42 saves while Caleb Hannon turned aside 21 shots for Springfield.
 
Fairbanks 4 @ Kenai River 3 (OT) - For the second straight night, Jax Murray scored the game winning goal in overtime to lift the Fairbanks Ice Dogs over the Kenai River Brown Bears. Ty Proffitt, Jonathan Sorenson and Jack Johnston scored for Fairbanks in regulation as the Ice Dogs overcame a 3-0 deficit. Ethan Lahmon was perfect in relief as he made 21 saves to get the win. Sutton McDonald, Alex Klekotka and Andy Walker all scored for the Kenai River Brown Bears and Dennis Westergard stopped 33 shots.
 
New Jersey 0 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Zach Stejskal was incredible for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights as he stopped all 44 shots thrown his way for his second shutout of the season. Zak Currie and Jacob Badal had a goal and an assist in the win. Blake Kryska and Gabe Temple also found the back of the net for the Knights. Matt Ladd made 40 saves for the Titans in the loss.

Austin 3 @ Chippewa 1 - Dante Sheriff had a goal and an assist to lead the Austin Bruins over the Chippewa Steel 3-1. Ian Mageau and Josef Mysak both scored goals for the Bruins to earn a split in the weekend series. Brett Miller improved to 6-2-2 as he made 31 saves. Filip Dusek scored the only goal for the Steel in the loss while Josh Langford made 38 stops. 
 
MN Wilderness 4 @ MN Magicians 3 - Two goals from Ondrej Trejbal led the Minnesota Wilderness to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Magicians. The loss snapped the Magicians five game winning streak. Jack Suchy and Tyler Watkins also found the back of the net for the Wilderness in the win. Kaleb Johnson won his fourth game of the year as he turned aside 32 of 35 shots. John Keranen, Carter Breitenfeldt, and Valentino Passarelli all scored for the Magicians. Jack Robbel took the loss, he made 32 saves.
 
Shreveport 3 @ Topeka 4 - The Topeka Pilots earned a series split as they knocked off Shreveport by the score of 4-3. Matthew Francois, Kyler Yeo, Connor Zilisch and Brenden Rons all lit the lamp for Topeka in the victory. Emil Gransoe earned win number nine on the year, he made 33 saves. Ethan Harrison and Jay Feiwell had a goal and an assist for the Mudbugs while CJ McGee also picked up a goal. Maiszon Balboa stopped 20 shots for Shreveport.
 
Amarillo 3 @ Odessa 2 - Logan Jenuwine scored with 22 seconds left in regulation to lift the Amarillo Bulls to a 3-2 win over the Odessa Jackalopes. Brett Abdelnour and Nice Trela also scored for the Bulls on Saturday night. Justin Evenson stopped 27 shots as he improved to 2-0-2 on the year. Kyle Herbster and James Crossman found twine for Odessa in the loss. Alex Camarre stopped 35 of 38 shots.
 
Corpus Christi 3 @ Lone Star 2 - Corpus Christi salvaged a series split as they held off the Lone Star Brahmas to earn a 3-2 win. Jake Stella potted a pair of goals while Santeri Hartikainen scored as well. Florian Mnich stopped 36 of 38 Lone Star attempts. Scott Persson scored both goals for Lone Star. Harrison Feeney made 32 saves in the loss. 
 
Aberdeen 2 @ Minot 3 - Wilmer Skoog’s goal midway through the third period was the game winning goal as the Minot Mintauros earned a split in their weekend series. David Raisanen had a goal and an assist while Cole O’Connell netted his first goal of the season. Nicholas Grabko made 31 saves in the win, it was his 11th of the year. John Sladic had a goal and an assist, Jonathan Bendorf scored as well for Aberdeen. Matt Vernon made 27 saves for the Wings.
