Friday Finals: Jackalopes take down division leaders in OT

Alex Pollock had a goal and three assists in a 9-0 win on Friday night.

Amarillo 4 @ Odessa 5 (OT) - Sebastian Frantz scored the game winning goal 3:42 into overtime and the Odessa Jackalopes picked up a 5-4 win over the Amarillo Bulls. Zach Heintz finished with three points (1 goal, 2 assists), Jared Christy and Connor Fedorek each had a goal and an assist in the win. Michael Sacco also scored while Alex Camarre made 39 saves. Logan Jenuwine logged two goals and two assists for the Bulls. Jason Brancheau and Ryan Lautenbach also found the net for Amarillo while Gabriel Seger had three assists. Justin Evenson made 27 saves in the loss.
 
Brookings 0 @ Bismarck 9 - The Bismarck Bobcats made a statement on Black Friday as the offense churned out nine goals against the Brookings Blizzard. Mitchell Walinski, Andy Stoneman and Christian Brune all potted a pair of goals in the win. Alex Pollock finished the night with a goal and three assists while Kirklan Irey had a goal and an assist and Bartek Bison also had a goal. John Roberts was perfect in the defensive end as he made 29 saves for his 11th win and third shutout. McLean Dorr and Jack Caruso combined for 36 saves for Brookings.
 
Northeast 2 @ Johnstown 5 - Make it 14 straight wins for the Johnstown Tomahawks as they knocked off the Northeast Generals 5-2. Carson Briere and Cameron Hebert both lit the lamp once and had two assists for the Tomahawks. Owen Arfstrom, Roman Kraemer and Pavel Kharin all found twine in the win as well. Carter McPhail turned aside 25 Northeast shots and improved his record to 13-1. John Jaworski and Clark Kerner picked up goals for the Generals. Marko Sturma and David Fessenden combined for 44 saves.
 
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3 @ New Jersey 5 - Michael Outzen registered three points and Gavin Gulash found the back of the net twice as the Titans downed the Knights by a score of 5-3. Connor Merrill and Thomas Lacombe each had a goal and an assist in the win for New Jersey. Matt Ladd picked up the victory, his 10th of the season. Shay Donovan had a goal and an assist for the Knights in the loss while Jacob Badal and Zak Currie scored for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Samuel Vyletelka made 35 saves for the Knights.
 
Maryland 1 @ Jamestown 7 - An offensive explosion from the Jamestown Rebels propelled them to a 7-1 win over the Maryland Black Bears. Alex Frye scored twice and had an assist while Auggie Moore, Noah Finstrom and Nick Stuckless each had a goal and an assist. Antonio Venuto and Niki Jasko each tallied a goal for the Rebels. Ryan Keane made 27 stops en route to his ninth win of the year. Quinn Warmuth scored the only goal for Maryland and David Tomeo made 28 saves in the loss.
 
Chippewa 3 @ Austin 1 - The Chippewa Steel took down the Austin Bruins 3-1 on Black Friday as the Steel received goals from Camden Thiesing, Jacob Dirks and Filip Dusek. Thomas Vochozka and Matt Clark each had two helpers. Josh Langford made 31 saves for Chippewa. Garrett Dahm tallied the only goal for Austin while Kyle McClellan made 19 saves.
 
Janesville 3 @ Springfield 2 - The Janesville Jets hung on to defeat the Springfield Jr. Blues 3-2 on Friday night as Justin Engelkes, Matthew Doyle and Jack Vincent scored in the win. Cole Brady was sensational down the stretch and ended up with 29 saves. Ryan Reid and Ben Schmidling scored for Springfield while Jack Williams made 25 stops.
 
Shreveport 3 @ Topeka 1 - Harrison Stewart’s three points lifted the Shreveport Mudbugs to a 3-1 win over the Topeka Pilots. Jay Feiwell added a goal and a helper as well for Shreveport. Lukass Sicevs also scored for the Mudbugs. Leo Chuard stopped 32 of 33 shots and earned his eighth win of the year. Brendan Schultz scored the only goal for the Pilots and Emil Gransoe made 29 saves.
 
Corpus Christi 2 @ Lone Star 3 - Michal Stinil’s second tally of the game proved to be the game winner as the Lone Star Brahmas outlasted the Corpus Christi IceRays 3-2. Blake Evennou scored the game’s opening goal as Lone Star amassed a 3-0 lead through two periods. Kyle Moore and Jack Sampson scored for Corpus Christi to make things interesting but Harrison Feeney closed the door down the stretch and made 35 saves to help his team clinch the win. Sam Best stopped 21 shots in the loss.
 
Aberdeen 4 @ Minot 2 - The Aberdeen Wings inched closer to the top spot in the Central Division as they doubled up the Minot Minotauros 4-2. Riley Murphy scored twice, Brad Belisle had a goal and an assist, and Dalton Weigel had four assists in the win. Adam Pitters also scored for Aberdeen while Matt Vernon got the win in between the pipes as he made 33 saves. Kevin Ness and Wilmer Skoog each lit the lamp for the Minotauros and Nicholas Grabko denied 31 shots. 
 
Fairbanks 2 @ Kenai River 1 (OT) - Jax Murray was the overtime hero as he netted the game winner with just 57 seconds remaining in extra period to give the Fairbanks Ice Dogs a 2-1 win over the Kenai River Brown Bears. Luke Mobley scored the only goal for the Ice Dogs in regulation, it was his fifth of the season. Mattias Sholl picked up the win in goal, he made 36 saves in the victory. Brandon Lajoie scored the lone goal for Kenai River in the loss, Gavin Enright made 32 saves.
