Friday Finals: Jr. Blues get big win in Alaska

Zach Stejskal stopped all 53 shots that came his way in a 1-0 shutout on Friday as the Knights snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Springfield 3 @ Fairbanks 1 - The Springfield offense was carried by Max Brainin as he had a goal and two assists in the Jr. Blues 3-1 win over Fairbanks. David Schmidling and Max Osborne found the back of the net in the big road victory. Jack Williams turned aside 24 of 25 shots to pick up his fourth win of the year. Tanner Edwards scored the only goal for the Ice Dogs while Nate Reid gave up three goals on 19 shots. 
 
New Jersey 0 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 - It was the Zach Stejskal show and the New Jersey Titans had a front row seat to all of it. Stejskal turned aside 53 New Jersey shots as he picked up his 6th win of the season. Evan Orr’s first goal in the North American Hockey League turned out to the game winning goal as the Knights defeated the Titans 1-0. Matt Ladd was stuck with the loss for the Titans as he made 28 saves.
 
Northeast 1 @ Jamestown 5 - Alex Fry’s three points and Lukas Uhler’s two goals propelled Jamestown to a 5-1 win over the Northeast Generals. Colin Schmidt had a goal and an assist while Sam Anzai also had a goal in the win. Ryan Keane made 22 saves for the Rebels. Clark Kerner scored the only goal for the Generals. Marko Sturma was handed the loss as has stopped 38 shots. 
 
Maryland 1 @ Johnstown 6 - Oliver Benwell had a goal and two assists as he led the Johnstown Tomahawks to a 6-1 victory over Maryland Black Bears. Cameron Hebert scored twice as Pavel Kharin had a goal and an assist. Mitchell Hale also got on the scoresheet for Johnstown. Carter McPhail denied 40 shots thrown at him by Maryland. Luke Mountain had the lone goal for Maryland. David Tomeo made 12 saves while Benjamin Beck stopped seven shots. 
 
Minot 2 @ Austin 0 - Nicholas Grabko was the star of the night in Austin as he turned aside 30 shots to pick up his 2nd shutout of the season. Didrik Henbrant and Andrew Kangas scored for the Minotauros and that would be all the offense they would need. Kyle McClellan stopped 16 of 18 Minot shots.
 
Amarillo 3 @ Corpus Christi 1 - Nick Trela had a goal and an assist to lead the Amarillo Bulls to a 3-1 win over Corpus Christi. Brett Abdelnour and Logan Jenuwine found some twine for Amarillo. Jason Grande got the win in goal as he made 32 saves. Ryan Willett provided all the offense for the IceRays as Willett grabbed his second goal of the year.
 
Chippewa 4 @ Janesville 3 (OT) - Killian Kiecker-Olson was the hero for the Steel as the Chippewa forward scored to give his team the win in overtime. Kiecker-Olson scored during regulation while Jacob Dirks had a goal and an assist. Grant Reichenbacher also found the back of the net for the Steel. Josh Langford got the win in between the pipes as he made 26 saves. Jack Vincent had two points for the Jets, Erik Palmqvist scored once again for Janesville, while Alex Murray also provided offense for Janesville. Cole Brady made 22 saves for the Jets. 
 
Brookings 0 @ MN Wilderness 5 - It was all Minnesota, all night long as the Minnesota Wilderness demolished the Brookings Blizzard 5-0. Ondrej Trejbal and Luke Dow each potted a goal and logged two assists for the home squad. Nate Horn, Isaac Kobienia and Ryan Nelson also tickled the twine for Minnesota. Ryan Fanti was a perfect 24-for-24 as he earned his first shutout of the season. McLean Door made 35 saves for the Blizzard in a losing effort.
 
Topeka 1 @ Odessa 2  - Connor Fedorek’s goal with 56 seconds remaining was the difference as the Odessa Jackalopes won a hard fought game against the Topeka Pilots. In addition to Fedorek’s goal, Kyle Herbster netted a goal for the Jackalopes in the win. Topeka’s only goal came from Dallas Tulik, his 12th of the season. Kade Phipps picked up the win in net as he made 36 saves while Emil Gransoe was dealt the loss as he made 34 saves. 
 
Bismarck 4 @ Aberdeen 2 - Mitchell Walinski had a goal and an assist to lead the Bismarck Bobcats to a 4-2 decision over the Aberdeen Wings. Alex Pollock, Adam Stacjo and Hunter Johannes all scored for Bismarck in the win. John Roberts was superb in goal as he denied 38 of 40 shots from the Wings. Dalton Weigel had a goal and an assist while Brad Belisle also found the back of the net in the loss. Matt Vernon made 33 saves for the Wings.
 
Shreveport 0 @ Lone Star 2  - Harrison Feeney was perfect on Friday night as he made 26 saves to shutout the Shreveport Mudbugs 2-0. Clayton Lackey provided all of the offense as his first goal of the season came on a penalty shot in the second period. That gave his team the lead but it was third period where Lackey left little in doubt. He scored his second goal of the night and of the season. Leo Chuard was really good for the Mudbugs as he stopped 34 of 36 shots. 
 
MN Magicians 3 @ Kenai River 0 - Jack Robbel was outstanding for the Minnesota Magicians as he grabbed his first shutout of the season. Joey Pavey was the catalyst for the Minnesota offense as he lit the lamp twice. Jackson Jutting also found twine for the Magicians. Dennis Westergard took the loss despite making 32 saves on 33 shots.
