Generals forward Gaudette makes NCAA DI commitment

October 11, 2018
The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are excited to announce that forward Brady Gaudette has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Maine in the Fall of 2019. Maine competes in the Hockey East Conference.

Gaudette, 19, was drafted by the Generals in the 11th round of the 2017 NAHL Draft and has excelled since joining the Generals. In 2017-18, the 5’10/166 lbs. native of Braintee, Massachusetts, had 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points. He was also one of the top penalty killers in the league.

Gaudette was also selected to and played in the 2018 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for one of two NAHL Selects teams where he had an assist in two games.

During the 2018-19 season, Gaudette has three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in the first six games.

Prior to joining the Generals, Gaudette played for the Boston Advantage since the age of 11. He excelled at all levels of play and improved dramatically under the tutelage of Tim Lovell. Tim worked tirelessly with Gaudette both on and off the ice to help improve his game. Gaudette had 15 goals and 21 assists for the Advantage in his final year.

“Very excited for Brady. His work ethic is what has allowed him to make such dramatic leaps at every level he has played at. He is a tireless worker and does every skill, camp, combine and clinic we offer and we feel that this been a big part of his maturation as a person and player,” said Boston Advantage President Tim Lovell.

Generals head coach Joe Lovell added, “Brady sets a great tone for us. He is hard to play against, does a great job in all three zones. He is a testament to what hard work can do for you. He constantly improves. He works hard every single day and we are very proud of him. Maine is getting a great player and a great kid.”

“We are very fortunate to have the relationship we have with Lovell Hockey and Boston Advantage. Brady is a great kid and player and is the caliber of player we love getting from them. Brady earned this commitment with his hard work and we are very excited for him,” said Generals GM Bryan Erikson.

Gaudette said he is relieved for the NCAA commitment process to be over. “It was a long process, but well worth it as I really feel I have found a home in Maine. The staff, the facilities and the school really helped make my decision a no-brainer. I would like to thank Tim and Joe Lovell for all they have done for me, as well as, the Boston Advantage and the Northeast Generals. I am excited to try to win a Robertson Cup this year and continue to work on improving my game,” said Gaudette.
