Shreveport forward Fader makes NCAA commitment

June 7, 2018

Jordan Fader led the Shreveport Mudbugs in scoring during the regular season and also spent two seasons playing in the NAPHL prior to his arrival in the NAHL.

The Shreveport Mudbugs, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jordan Fader has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Fader, 21, just completed his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’2/195 lbs. native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, had a career season, leading the Mudbugs in scoring during the 2017-18 regular season with 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists), while playing in all 60 regular season games.
Fader also racked up seven points in 12 playoff games helping the Mudbugs capture their first ever Robertson Cup National Championship.  He was also selected to and played in the 2018 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team, where he had three points in two games during the event.
“We are very excited for Jordan’s opportunity to join great school like Stevens Point.  Jordan is a strong two-way player that has deceiving speed, a heavy shot, and can kill penalties.  He takes pride in his off ice training, on ice training, and is the type of teammate any team would be lucky to have,” said Mudbugs head coach Karlis Zirnis.
Fader is another great ladder of development success story, as he played two seasons in the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) prior to his time in the NAHL. During the 2015-16 season, he played for the Omaha AAA 18U team and was named to the All-NAPHL 18U 2nd Team that season, scoring 28 points in 24 NAPHL games. During the 2014-15 season, Fader played for the Madison Capitols 18U team in the NAPHL where he earned All-NAPHL 18U 3rd Team honors scoring 28 points in 24 games played.
In 108 career NAHL games (105 spent with Shreveport) Fader recorded 62 career points. Prior to playing in the NAHL and NAPHL, Fader spent three seasons playing for Rice Lake High School in Wisconsin.
