Saturday Scores: Blizzard win highlights Central sweeps

Jason Brancheau helped the Amarillo Bulls to a weekend home sweep of Topeka.

Coulee Region 2 @ Brookings 4 - Parker Revering had three points, a goal and two assists, as the Brooking Blizzard defeated the Coulee Region Chill 4-2. Connor Koviak, Tyler Hinterser and Vince Marino all scored for the Blizzard. Liam Murray stopped 30 shots on the night to earn the win. Grant Reichenbacher and Nick Bowman scored for Coulee Region. Mitchell James took the loss as he made 34 stops.
 
Topeka 1 @ Amarillo 6 - Brendon Michaelian’s two goals led the Amarillo Bulls to a 6-1 trouncing of the Topeka RoadRunners. Jason Brancheau, Brett Abdelnauer and Alex Peterson all had a goal and an assist in the Amarillo victory. Nic Griebenow also found the back of the net. Trevor Micucci turned aside 34 shots to earn the win in goal. Matt Barnes picked up the goal for Topeka and Sam Metcalf made 27 saves in the loss.
 
Aberdeen 5 @ Bismarck 1 - Colton Fletcher and John Sladic each had a goal and an assist as the Aberdeen Wings defeated Bismarck 5-1. Jonathan Bendorf also scored once and had an assist. Nathan Burke and Dalton Weigel lit the lamp as well in the Aberdeen win. Matt Vernon got the win in between the pipes as he made 31 saves. Jake Olson scored for Bismarck while John Roberts made 46 saves in the loss.
 
Minot 2 @ MN Wilderness 3 - The Wilderness kept pace with the Bruins for second place in the division thanks to a 3-2 decision over Minot. Isaac Moberg, Gino Lucia and Edward Lindelow all took trips to the red light district for the Wilderness. Ryan Fanti turned aside 35 shots to pick up the win in goal. Austin Dollimer and Ryan Green netted goals for Minot while Nick Grabs made 28 saves in the loss.
 
MN Magicians 0 @ Springfield 1 - In a classic goaltender duel, Evan Fear got the last laugh as he stopped all 44 shots fired in his direction. It's his second shutout of the season. Isaiah Saville was equally as good as he made 40 saves on the night but he could not stop Sam Sterne who scored the only goal of the contest. Patrick Smyth and Brandon Puricelli picked up the helpers on the goal.
 
New Jersey 5 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 - Kyle Jeffers scored a pair of goals and Hunter Alden had three assists to lead the New Jersey Titans to a 5-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Chris Garbe had a goal and an assist for the Titans while Matthew Cameron and Gavin Gulash also   scored for New Jersey. Matt Ladd was a brick wall as he stopped 44 shots to pic up the victory. Tyrone Bronte scored for the Knights in the loss.
 
Northeast 4 @ Philadelphia 3 (SO) - Ryan Bogan scored the only goal in the shootout and that propelled the Generals to a 4-3 shootout win. Brady Gaudette, Trent Harsma and Sviatoslov Kuchynski all scored for Northeast. David Fessenden made 37 saves in relief and earned the win in goal. Ryan Patrick, Branon Stanley and Austin Martz found the back of the net for the Rebels, Eli Billing got the loss as he made 25 saves.
 
Austin 2 @ Janesville 1 - Travis Kothenbeutel’s goal with a minute and 31 seconds left in regulation was the difference as the Bruins double up the Jets 2-1. Dante Sheriff also lit the lamp for Austin while Alex Schilling was the winning netminder as he stopped 24 shots. Sam Renlund scored the lone goal for Janesville. Garrett Nieto made 25 save in a loss.
 
Odessa 3 @ Corpus Christi 0 - Brett Epp was a wall for the Odessa Jackalopes as he made 36 saves to earn his second shutout of the season. Ricky Carballo had a goal and two assists to lead the Odessa offense. Zach Heintz had a goal and an assist while Viktor Johansson also scored for the Jackalopes. Chad Veltri made 30 saves for Corpus Christi in the loss.
 
Lone Star 2 @ Shreveport 1 (SO) - Austin Bottrell scored with just seven seconds left to force overtime in Shreveport and then Kimball Johnson scored the only goal in the shootout to give the Brahmas a 2-1 shootout victory. Harrison Feeney made 25 saves on the night and stopped all three Mudbugs shooters to pick up the win. Ryan Burnett scored the only goal for Shreveport while Gustavs Grigals made 33 saves in his first game back from injury.  
 
Kenai River 3 @ Fairbanks 4 (SO) - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs snapped their three game losing streak as they beat the Kenai River Brown Bears 4-3 in a shootout. Luke Mobley and Jack Johnston each scored in the skills competition to earn the extra point for Fairbanks. Erkka Vanska netted a goal and an assist, Daniel Haider scored and Hunter Wendt picked up a goal as well. Josh Benson earned the win as he made 21 saves and stopped both shooters in the shootout. Filip Karlsson scored a pair of goals in the loss. Gil Garcia scored a goal and had an assist. Kevin Lake stopped 50 shots for Kenai River but unfortunately was stuck with the loss.
