Thursday Box Scores

Springfield 4 @ Coulee Region 7 – Chill forward Tyler Ebner had a hat-trick to lead the Chill to a 7-4 win over Springfield, handing the Jr. Blues their 8th straight loss. The big difference in the game was a three-goal 3rd period from the Chill. The game was knotted at 4-4 after two periods as the Chill got two goals from Tomas Vochozka, one from Ebner and another from Marshal Plunkett in the opening two periods. Meanwhile, Brandon Puricelli, Max Brainin, Sam Sterne, and Nick Schultze all scored for the Jr. Blues. In the 3rd period, Plunkett added his second of the game, which would stand as the game-winner and Ebner completed his hat-trick. Emil Zetterquist made 39 saves in the win, while Springfield goalies Jurja Ovecka (16 saves) and Evan Fear (18 saves) both saw action for the Jr. Blues.

New Jersey 7 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2 – The Titans jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back in a 7-2 win over the Knights. Ryan Naumovski scored twice for New Jersey in the win. New Jersey scored three times in the 1st period, which included a goal from Naumovski and others from Hunter Alden and Matthew Cameron. In the 2nd period, Naumovski added another and Kyle Jeffers also scored. The Knights had two answers to make it 5-2 early in the 3rd period as Anthony Firriolo and Justin Engelkes scored, but the Titans would tack on two more goals in the 3rd period from Todd Goehring and Matthew Cameron. Brandon Perrone picked up the win for the Titans, making 33 saves, while Christian Stoever took the loss, making 15 saves.

Philadelphia 3 @ Northeast 4 (OT) – In a crazy overtime, the Generals dodged an apparent early game-winner from the Rebels and Sviatoslov Kuchynski scored on a one-timer in overtime to give the Generals a come-from-behind 4-3 overtime win. It was all Rebels in the first two periods as they opened up a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Brandon Stanley, Jensen Zerban, and Ryan Patrick. The Generals special teams helped the team tie up the game in the 3rd period as Luke Perunovich and Matt Wiesner scored power play goals and then Matt Demelis tied the game with less than two minutes to go in regulation while shorthanded. In the overtime, the Rebels scored quickly, but the goal was waived off because of a major penalty that had occurred earlier in the action. The Generals took advantage of the opportunity and ended the game on the power play in OT. David Fessenden made 34 saves in the win, while Eli Billing made 26 saves in the loss.

Amarillo 4 @ Odessa 3 – Amarillo goalie Jason Grande made 44 saves to help the Bulls to an important 4-3 road win in Odessa. The Bulls overcame and early 1-0 deficit as Petr Miko scored for Odessa. The Bulls answered with three straight goals from Trey Bagwell, Austin O’Rourke, and Cameron Bartkowski to take a 3-1 lead. Odessa drew to within one goal late in the 2nd period as Miko scored his second goal of the game. The eventual game-winner came early in the 3rd period off the stick of Amarillo’s Jared Domin. Evan Somoza later added a goal for the Jacks, but they would not be able to net the equalizer. Alex Camarre took the loss in goal for Odessa, making 20 saves.
