Wings and Magicians earn come-from-behind wins on Wednesday

Kyler Grundy had the game-winning goal and an assist on Wednesday night to lead the Minnesota Magicians to a 4-3 win.

Brookings 2 @ Aberdeen 3 – The Aberdeen Wings erased a 2-0 deficit and scored three unanswered goals to come from behind to defeat the visiting Brookings Blizzard, 3-2 on Wednesday night. After a scoreless 1st period, it was the Blizzard who took control in the 2nd period with a power play goal from Brendan Aird and another goal from Josh Boyer just over four minutes later to jump ahead 2-0. The Wings stormed back later in the middle frame with goals from Nathan Burke and Adam Pitters just :36 seconds apart to tie the score at 2-2 heading into the 3rd period. With just 7:20 left in the final period, Zach Noble scored on the power play to give the Wings the 3-2 edge and win. Wings goalie Gabe Vinal made 22 saves in the win, while Blizzard goalie Liam Murray made 46 saves in the loss. The win put Aberdeen four points ahead at the top the Central standings.
 
Coulee Region 3 @ MN Magicians 4 – Forward Kyler Grundy had the game-winning goal in the 3rd period and an assist to lead the Magicians to a 4-3 win on Wednesday over the Chill. The two team’s were even through the first two periods, with each trading goals in the 1st and 2nd periods. Nick Bowman scored in both the 1st and 2nd periods for the Chill, but each time Bowman scored, the Magicians had an answer as Brendan Skarda scored in the 1st period to tie the game at 1-1 and Cameron Buhl scored in the 2nd period to tie the game at 2-2. The Magicians grabbed control of the game early in the 3rd period as John Keranen scored on the power play to make it 3-2 and then Grundy scored his 9th goal of the season shorthanded to make it 4-2. The Chill got a power play goal from Connor Zilisch later in the 3rd period, but it would not be enough. Isaiah Saville made 15 saves in the win, while Emil Zetterquist made 26 saves in the loss.
