NAHL Weekend Preview

December 16, 2016

The NAHL returns to action this weekend with a busy slate of 23 games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Several teams are looking to extend winning streaks, while others look to snap losing skids as the season of streaks continues. Races in all four divisions for the top spot are starting to tighten as the league approaches the halfway point of the 2016-17 season.

The 2nd place Brookings Blizzard, who have won two straight games, will take to the road for a two-game set in Aberdeen. The final series sees the Austin Bruins in Bismarck to face the Bobcats for two games.

In the East Division, the team with the NAHL’s best record, the Aston Rebels, will be busy as they play in three games, which includes a home-and-home series with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday and Saturday and a home game against New Jersey on Sunday. The Johnstown Tomahawks are idle.

In the Midwest Division, winning streaks collide as 3rd place Springfield takes to the road to face the 1st place Janesville Jets. The other series feature the 3rd place Shreveport Mudbugs, winners of their last three straight, hosting the Corpus Christi IceRays. In the final series, the Amarillo Bulls are in Topeka for a pair of games against the RoadRunners. Odessa is idle this weekend.
