Late goal from Tomlak pushes Jr. Blues past Jets, 3-2

Brady Tomlak scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining on Tuesday night.
Janesville 2 @ Springfield 3 – The Springfield Jr. Blues won their fourth straight game with a close 3-2 win on Tuesday night at home over the Janesville Jets. The win moved the Jr. Blues into sole possession of 2nd place in the Midwest Division.
The Jr. Blues went up 1-0 with an early 1st period goal from Isaac Ceh. The goal came after Joey Lupo started a play up the ice and got the puck to Kyle Meeh, who fired a shot on goal. After a save from Jets goalie Blake Weyrick, both Sam Craggs and Ceh had a crack at the rebound, with Ceh being given credit for the goal. The Jets would tie the game just over seven minutes later after a face-off win in the Jr. Blues zone got the puck back to the point where a shot was sent to the net and after an original save by Tommy Nappier, Jets forward Adam Winborg would tap home a loose rebound to tie the game at 1-1.
The Jr. Blues jumped ahead again by one with the only goal of the 2nd period as a great pass from the side boards by Anthony Scarsella found a wide-open Sam Craggs in front and Craggs deposited the puck into the open net for a 2-1 lead. Trevor Stone also assisted on the goal.
The Jets would tie the game at 2-2 midway through the 3rd period as a nice keep in at the point led to a shot from the point was put in the back of the net by Cole Paskus, with assists to Kip Hoffman and Cullen Munson. With just over five minutes remaining, the Jr. Blues would get the eventual game-winner as a nice pass from Drew Richter from the corner found Brady Tomlak streaking to the net and the captain wired a shot past Weyrick for the win.
Nappier picked up his third straight win, making 31 saves, while Weyrick made 41 saves in the loss for the Jets.
