Topeka forces Game 5 in South Division finals

The Topeka RoadRunners downed the St. Louis Bandits, 4-1, in Game 4 of their South Division final series of the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Robertson Cup Playoffs on Saturday night.

The best-of-five series is tied, 2-2, with the decisive Game 5 set for Monday in Topeka (7:05 p.m. local time).

In Game 4, forward Tony Thomas, an Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey) recruit, tallied a pair of goals for the RoadRunners, and forward Bryce Johnson connected for the game-winning goal and two assists.  Between the pipes, Eric Rohrkemper turned aside 28 shots.

The winner of Game 5 will join the Central Division champion Bismarck Bobcats, North Division champion Traverse City North Stars, West Division champion Wenatchee Wild and West Division runner-up Fairbanks Ice Dogs at the Robertson Cup Championship Tournament, which will be held from May 4-9 at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, Wash.
