Wenatchee forward Ahlgren makes NCAA DI commitment

Jake Ahlgren played for the South Divsion team at the 2015 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jake Ahlgren has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Bentley University. Bentley is a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).
Ahlgren, 19, is in his second season playing in the NAHL for the Wild. The native of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, led the Wild during the regular season in scoring with 45 points in 60 regular season games, which included 20 goals and 25 assists. Ahlgren (6’1/187) has also registered two points in the first four Wild playoff games.
In 2013-14, Ahlgren also spent the majority of the season with the Wild, playing in 35 regular season games and recording 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists). He also had four points in 10 playoff games.
Earlier this season, Ahlgren was selected to play for the South Division team at the 2015 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he recorded one point in two games.
Prior to coming to Wenatchee, Ahlgren played high school hockey for Fergus Falls High School in Minnesota and then spent time in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede.
Ahlgren summed up his feelings on Twitter with the following… “I am humbled to announce my commitment to play D1 hockey at Bentley University! Thanks to my teammates and everyone who has believed in me.”
Ahlgren is the 7th player on the current Wild roster that is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey, joining Dan Bailey (Air Force), Ivan Boneranko (Alabama-Huntsville), Troy Conzo (UMass-Lowell), Brendan Harris (St. Cloud State), Donovan Ott (Cornell) and August Von Ungern-Sternberg (Brown).
