Keystone rallies to beat Jr. Blues in OT on Thursday

Keystone 2 @ Springfield 1 (OT) - Down 1-0 into the final minute of play, Keystone rallied to tie the score with the goalie pulled and then prevailed in overtime to snap a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 win at Nelson Center over the Springfield Junior Blues in the lone NAHL game on Thursday night.
The Ice Miners were heavily outshot through two periods of play by a 34-15 margin and gave up the game's first goal with only :28 seconds remaining in the 2nd as Brady Tomlak deflected in Kyle Meeh's point shot behind Alex Blankenburg. The score was 1-0 through two periods.
Keystone had numerous opportunities to tie the game in the 3rd but trailed 1-0 with 1:44 to play when they used their timeout and pulled Blankenburg for the extra attacker. After Springfield's Jason Dhoogie narrowly missed an empty netter, Alex Archibald was able to beat Jr. Blues goaltender Dryden McKay with a point shot to tie the game with just 35 seconds remaining.
In overtime, at the 2:24 mark, Taylor Fernandez brought the puck across the slot and put it under the crossbar for the game-winning goal, his 2nd of the season.
Blankenburg made 40 saves in the win and McKay made 24 saves in the loss.
