Magicians top Chill 5-1 on Sunday

Coulee Region Chill 1 @ Minnesota Magicians 5 – Playing their first game of the weekend, the Minnesota Magicians were the fresher team against the Coulee Region Chill, who were playing in their third game in three days, as the Magicians broke open the game in the 2nd period and cruised to a 5-1 win at home in the lone NAHL game on Sunday.
After a scoreless 1st period which saw Minnesota outshoot Coulee Region14-7, the Magicians scored the game’s first goal early in the 2nd period off the ticks of Sam Wolfe’s power play goal. Just :10 seconds later, Jesse Tredinnick would tie the score for the Chill, but that would be all that Magicians goalie Atte Tolvanen would allow on the afternoon. Nick Kuchera made it 2-1 and Will Johnson scored to make it 3-1 at the end of two periods.
The Magicians added two more goals in the 3rd period on goals from Jordan Stejskal and Matt Colford. Colford finished the game with a goal and two assists and Tolvanen made 26 saves in the win. Blake Cates took the loss making 32 saves. Final shots in the game were 37-27 in favor of Minnesota.
With the win, the Magicians improved to 6-4-1 on the season and with the loss the Chill fell to 7-7-0 on the season.
