Another Bandit punches Division I ticket
The St. Louis Bandits have announced that first-year defenseman Danny Weiss has committed to Niagara University (College Hockey America) for next season.
In 24 games this year, Weiss, a 19-year-old from Ballwin, Mo., has three goals for 11 points.
"The entire Bandits organization would like to congratulate Danny for accomplishing his goal of securing a Division I scholarship,” said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. “Niagara is a school that’s had a lot of success in getting to the NCAA tournament, as well as moving players onto professional hockey.”
Weiss is the sixth player from this year’s Bandits team to commit to a Division I program, joining Tyler Elbrecht (Minnesota State-Mankato), Keith Kinkaid (Union College), Andrew Hamburg (Colorado College), Clint Bourbonais (Air Force Academy) and Anthony Schooley (Michigan Tech University).
“We’re proud of Danny for this accomplishment and wish him nothing but the best,” Brown added.
