Jr. Blues announce coaching change
The Springfield Jr. Blues announced today that head coach Chris Wyler has been replaced behind the bench by assistant coach Andy Maher.
“We needed a different direction and the board decided that this was in the best interests of the team,” said Jr. Blues board president Bob Gordon. “The team hasn't been performing well, so it's time to make a change.
“This is a tough thing to do anytime, but this team still has the potential to win the league championship. We’re competitive every night and maybe a coaching change will give us the spark we need to win a few more games.”
Maher, from Alexandria, Minn., will serve as the team’s interim head coach.
