BOBCATS TRADE FOR KIMBRO: The Bismarck Bobcats have acquired center Derek Kimbro from the Springfield Jr. Blues in exchange for the rights to former Bobcat Bryan Kozlowski.
Kimbro, Nashville, Tenn., native played last season in Springfield. This year, he played with the Alaska Avalanche before being traded back to the Jr. Blues.
Kimbro has combined for 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 24 games this season. Last year, he posted six points (three goals, three assists) and was a plus-4 in eight playoff games with the Jr. Blues.
“Derek is a blue-collar player who adds more depth to our forwards,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “He’ll also provide us with another true centerman.”
The addition of Kimbro also brings another character player to the locker room.
“Kimbro is a great teammate and should be a welcome addition to our team,” added assistant coach Aaron Kinslow. “He really compliments what we already have.”
