Tomahawks prepare for first big event

The Johnstown Tomahawks, the newest members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to invite fans to attend an informative Q&A session and meet & greet with two-time Stanley Cup Champion and current Pittsburgh Penguins radio color commentator Phil Bourque. The Old 29'er, as many hockey fans affectionately know him, will be at the Tomahawks Select-a-Seat and Open House on Thursday, August 2nd from 4-6 p.m at the Cambria County War Memorial.
This is a first major event for the Tomahawks who became members of the NAHL earlier this summer after the Alaska Avalanche were acquired and relocated to Johnstown, PA back in May. The Tomahawks will also play in the first NAHL regular season game of the 2012-13 season as they travel to Port Huron to take on the Fighting Falcons on September 8-9, which is less than five weeks away.
As members of the regions youth hockey community, you will have the opportunity to speak with Mr. Bourque about his hockey career, which included 13 seasons in the NHL as a gritty winger and defenseman who played alongside Penguins greats such as Mario Lemieux, Ron Francis, and Bryan Trottier. With a Q&A format, you will have the opportunity to ask Mr. Bourque about his training regime, his road to the NHL, day-to-day life as a Pittsburgh Penguins player, and his time playing junior hockey.
This is an excellent opportunity for youth hockey players, coaches, and parents to learn more from a professional hockey player who has remained dedicated to the development of hockey in the Western Pennsylvania area.
No cost to attend the event. Food and drinks will also be provided free of charge.
