As Austin Sutter steps back into coaching in the League of Opportunity, he reflects on what it means to have hockey in Amarillo over the past 30 years and how he sees the NAHL as a springboard for athletes' hockey careers.
“We're a recruiting league, and we want to collect talent, right? But for me, I want to multiply talent. And we want to work with guys every day and not just on the ice but off the ice academically, emotionally, physically, mentally. I think it's one of the more challenging things a young man could do is to play junior hockey.”
Determined to bring the winning pedigree back to Amarillo, Sutter talks about his days coaching a Robertson Cup championship team and why the Amarillo Wranglers have coined the saying, “Wranglers Way.”
