Lone Star Alternate Captain Scanlon makes NCAA Commitment

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Tyson Scanlon has committed to play NCAA hockey for Endicott College in the CNE.

The 6-foot-1 righty from Worcester, Massachusetts, Scanlon will play for the Gulls at Endicott College in the fall. Scanlon is a second-year veteran of the Brahmas, skating in 99 games in the purple and black. This past season, the ‘05 forward laced up in 53 regular-season contests for the South Division club, registering 43 points for the team. Scanlon lit the lamp with a team-leading 19 goals while recording 24 assists for the Brahmas. The Massachusetts native was tied for third on his team with 43 points in the regular season, serving as a contributing offensive force for the team throughout the season. His offensive ability continued into critical moments in contests as Scanlon tallied six game-winning goals for the Brahmas. In addition, he scored two goals on the power play and one short-handed during the regular season. He featured a +22 rating on the ice, ranking third on the roster in that category as well.

In the postseason, Scanlon showed up frequently, recording five points in eight playoff games. He tallied two goals while logging three assists for the South Division club. The 6-foot-1 forward found twine once in power-play fashion and featured a +6 rating on the ice.

In his debut year in the League of Opportunity, Scanlon laced up in 38 contests for the Brahmas. In that rookie season, Scanlon scored his first junior goal while notching four assists for the Texas-based roster.

Endicott College might be a newer program, joining the college hockey ranks in 2015; however, the Gulls have become a contender year after year for postseason notoriety. The team has notched five NCAA tournament appearances since 2017.

Scanlon is one of 15 members of the Lone Star Brahmas to make a college ice hockey commitment.
