Minnesota Wilderness Defenseman DeAngelis makes NCAA Commitment

The Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Ryan DeAngelis has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of New England in the CNE. 

The 6-foot-2 blueliner from Scottsdale, Arizona, DeAngelis will join the Nor’Easters in the fall. DeAngelis is a second-year veteran of the Wilderness, skating in 117 games in a Minnesota sweater. This past season, the ‘05 lefty recorded 14 points in 55 games played in the regular season. He lit the lamp on three occasions and registered 11 assists from the blue line. One of his tallies was scored in game-winning fashion with the Wilderness. DeAngelis additionally featured a +10 rating when he was on the ice. Thanks to his help, the Minnesota Wilderness clinched the Midwest Division title and had the opportunity to compete for the Robertson Cup.

In the postseason, the Arizona native laced up in all 12 postseason games for the Wilderness. DeAngelis recorded three assists with the Midwest Division club.

In the skater’s debut season in the League of Opportunity, DeAngelis laced up in 50 games for the Wilderness. The 6-foot-2 skater recorded nine points with the Minnesota-based team. He scored his first NAHL goal and logged eight assists in the 2024-25 season.

DeAngelis is one of 12 members of the Minnesota Wilderness to make a college ice hockey commitment.
