Maryland Forward Krumins makes NCAA Commitment

The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Kristofers Krumins has committed to play NCAA hockey for the Neumann University in the MAC.

The 6-foot-2 forward from Jelgava, Latvia, Krumins will join the Knights in Ashton, Pennsylvania, in the fall. Krumins is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity, skating over 100 games in the East Division. This past season, he finished his age-out campaign with the Maryland Black Bears after being acquired in early February from the New Jersey Titans.

As a Black Bear, Krumins skated in 12 regular season contests, recording eight points with the Maryland-based program. He tallied four goals and recorded four assists in that span. One of his goals was scored in decider fashion for the Black Bears while one goal was lit on the man advantage.

In the postseason, the ‘05 skater laced up in 10 games for the East Division club, playing a critical offensive role for the Black Bears. He scored four goals and produced four assists in that span for Maryland. The 6-foot-2 skater was extremely effective on the man advantage, scoring three of his four postseason goals on the power play. Thanks to his help, Krumins and the Black Bears went on to take home the Robertson Cup trophy in overtime fashion in late May.

Before joining the Black Bears, Krumins skated across three seasons with the New Jersey Titans. In his 2025-26 season, he skated in 37 games for the Titans, recording 14 points for the team. The ‘05 skater tallied seven goals and logged seven assists for New Jersey. His offensive skill was prevalent when the contest was forced into a shootout because Krumins scored three shootout goals with the Titans.

The Jelgava, Latvia, native had a short season for his 2024-25 campaign. He played in six games for New Jersey, scoring a goal in that span.

For his debut season, Krumins played in 51 games for the Titans, recording 14 points for the team. He tallied a career-high 11 goals and notched three assists over that span. During his rookie year, he was able to find twine in game-winning fashion twice for the Titans.

In his NAHL career, Krumins played in 116 contests and recorded 45 career points.

Krumins is one of 13 members of the Maryland Black Bears to make a college ice hockey commitment.
