Elmira Defenseman Laferriere makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Elmira Aviators of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Jack Laferriere has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Providence College in Hockey East.
The 6-foot-3 blueliner from Chatham, New Jersey, Laferriere will join the Friars this upcoming fall at Providence College. Laferriere is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity, skating in 120 games in the East Division. This past season, Laferriere played for the Elmira Aviators, lacing up in 38 contests for the New York-based team. The ‘05 left-handed skater recorded two points from the blue line, scoring a goal while making an assist this past season.
Before joining the Aviators, Laferriere skated for the Northeast Generals for two seasons. In his 2024-25 campaign, the 6-foot-3 defenseman laced up for 45 games for the Generals, recording 11 points in his second season in the League of Opportunity. He tallied his first NAHL goal and notched 10 assists in that span. His lone goal was scored in man-advantage fashion for the Massachusetts-based team.
In his debut year in the NAHL, the ‘05 defenseman played in 37 contests for the Generals, recording four assists from the blue line.
Laferriere shares his gratitude to the people who have helped him achieve his NCAA aspirations.

Laferriere is one of 14 members of the Elmira Aviators to make a NCAA college commitment.
