Wisconsin Forward Bongiorno makes NCAA Commitment

The Wisconsin Windigo of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward AJ Bongiorno has committed to play NCAA hockey for UMass Boston in the Little East.

The 5-foot-9 right-handed skater from Massachusetts, Bongiorno, will head to his home state to skate with the Beacons in the fall. Bongiorno just wrapped up his age-out season with the Wisconsin Windigo, appearing in 63 games across the regular season and postseason.

In the ‘05 skater’s regular season campaign, he recorded 20 points in 53 contests. He tallied six goals while registering 14 assists for the Midwest Division club. The Massachusetts native was effective in lighting the lamp at critical points in games; he logged four game-winning goals for the Windigo. Moving into the postseason, Bongiorno recorded five points in 10 playoff games.  He scored twice while notching three assists for the Wisconsin-based team.

Prior to joining the Windigo, he made his NAHL debut with the New Hampshire Mountain Kings, lacing up in five games with the East Division club. He scored his first NAHL tally with the Mountain Kings.

Bongiorno is one of eight members of the Wisconsin Windigo to make a college ice hockey commitment.
