Anchorage Alternate Captain Evert makes NCAA Commitment

August 14, 2026

The Anchorage Wolverines of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Sam Evert has committed to play NCAA hockey for the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the NCHA.

The 20-year-old from Wisconsin, Evert, will join the Raiders in Milwaukee this upcoming fall. Evert featured a strong age-out season with the Anchorage Wolverines. The 6-foot forward laced up for every regular-season and postseason contest for the Midwest Division club and was the only player on the team to do so. In the regular season, Evert recorded 62 points in 59 games played. The alternate captain scored 24 goals and notched 38 assists, ranking second on his roster in both categories. Three of his tallies were game-winning, with four goals scored on the power play.  He registered a team-leading +23 rating on the ice for the Wolverines in the regular season as well. Moving into the postseason, the Wisconsin native logged two assists in four playoff games.

During the season, Evert was a constant offensive force on the ice, and he earned distinction as the Midwest Division Star of the Week on Nov. 24, 2025, thanks to a six-point performance for the Wolverines. He tallied three goals and recorded three assists in two games played. In addition to his distinction, Evert showed up on the scoresheet night after night for the Alaska-based club. The 6-foot forward recorded a point in 43 out of 59 regular season games played.

The Nashotah, Wisconsin, skater played in 63 games for the Wolverines in the 2024-25 season. He tallied 11 goals and registered 27 assists in his rookie season with the Midwest Division club. His ability to find twine at critical moments featured the ‘05 skater lighting the lamp twice in game-winning fashion for the Wolverines. In addition to his scoring, Evert logged a +15 rating on the ice for the 2024-25 season.

Prior to joining the Wolverines, he got a taste of the League of Opportunity in the 2023-24 season with a two-game appearance with the Wisconsin Windigo.

In Evert’s NAHL career, the 6-foot left-handed forward played 128 games, recording 102 points.

Evert is one of 11 members of the Anchorage Wolverines to make a college ice hockey commitment.
