North Iowa Captain Dietz makes NCAA Commitment

The North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Brody Dietz has committed to play NCAA hockey for Hamilton College in the NESCAC.

The 5-foot-9 blueliner from Hudson, Wisconsin, Dietz will join the reigning National Champions, the Hamilton College Continentals, in Clinton, New York, in the fall. Dietz is coming off his second season playing in the League of Opportunity. This past year, he dominated from the blue line, ranking as one of the top-scoring defensemen in the league. The ‘05 skater recorded 51 points in 58 games played in the regular season, just one game shy of playing every contest for the Bulls. He tallied three goals while registering 48 assists. In addition, one of Dietz’s tallies was scored in deciding fashion for the team.

In the league, Dietz ranked third overall amongst defensemen with 51 points in the regular season. His play-making ways also had the Wisconsin native ranked second overall with 48 assists. Dietz was effective on the man advantage, securing 26 of his points in power-play fashion for the Bulls.

In his debut year in the League of Opportunity, he started his NAHL career with the Anchorage Wolverines. The 5-foot-9 lefty recorded six points in 36 games played with the Midwest Division club. He tallied two goals and four assists in that span. In February of 2025, North Iowa acquired Dietz. He would then go on to play the rest of his rookie season with the Bulls. The ‘05 defenseman logged four points in 19 games played. He scored one goal and notched three assists with the Central Division team.

Dietz is one of eight members of the North Iowa Bulls to make a college ice hockey commitment.
