August 10, 2026

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Liam O’Keeffe has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Northeastern University.

The 6-foot-1 blueliner from Boston, Massachusetts, O’Keeffe has committed to play for the Northeastern hockey program. O’Keeffe is coming off his first season in the League of Opportunity. The ‘06 defenseman played in 37 games for the Brahmas, registering seven points from the blue line. The Massachusetts skater scored two goals while registering five assists with the Texas-based program. In addition to his scoring, he recorded a +6 rating on the ice.

In the postseason, O’Keeffe appeared in eight contests for the Brahmas. The 20-year-old notched an assist in Lone Star’s pursuit of the Robertson Cup.

Head coach of the Brahmas, Dan Wildfong, went into detail on what it means to see O’Keeffe take the next step in his hockey career.

“We are happy for Liam and his next step with Northeastern. They are getting a skilled, hard-nosed hockey player. He has grown his game on both ends of the ice, and we are excited for his next steps.”

O’Keeffe is one of 13 members of the Lone Star Brahmas to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
