The New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Jason Cai has committed to play NCAA hockey for Hamilton College in the NESCAC.

The netminder from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Cai will join the defending national champions in Clinton, New York, in the fall. Cai is a first-year goaltender in the NAHL, playing his age-out season with the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. The 6-foot-1 netminder was drafted by the Mountain Kings in the fourth round of the 2025 NAHL Entry Draft. The ‘05 goaltender faced injury in the first half of the 2025-26 season, not dressing in games until the end of January for the East Division team. Cai played 15 games between the pipes, registering a .902 save percentage and 3.24 goals-against average for the team. The New Jersey native went on a five-game heater in March, recording dominant performances in the blue paint night after night, with two games forced into a shootout.

On March 16, 2026, Cai was named an East Division Star of the Week thanks to his work in between the pipes against the Maine Nordiques. In addition to the string of wins, Cai notched his first shutout in his NAHL career in his fourth game played this past season. He turned aside 38 shots against the New Jersey Titans.

Before joining the Mountain Kings, Cai got a one-game taste of the League of Opportunity with the Corpus Christi IceRays in the 2024-25 season. He stopped 31 out of 34 shots for the South Division club during the NAHL Showcase.

The New Jersey native will join the Continentals at Hamilton College in a few short weeks. He will play at the nation’s second-oldest college ice arena. With a history of hockey at the school, Hamilton College made a statement this past March by defeating the three-time defending Hobart College Statesmen in the national championship game.

Cai is one of 12 members of the New Hampshire Mountain Kings to make a college ice hockey commitment.
