Shreveport Forward Gerhard makes NCAA Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Grayson Gerhard has committed to play NCAA hockey for Endicott College in the CNE.

The 6-foot-3 skater from the Lone Star State, Gerhard, will skate with the Gulls at Endicott College in the fall. Gerhard is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity, skating exclusively in the South Division. This past season he started his 2025-26 campaign with the Corpus Christi IceRays, skating in 17 games with the Texas-based team. The ‘05 forward recorded 14 points, tallying four goals and 10 assists with Corpus Christi in his age-out season. Gerhard was effective on the man advantage, scoring two of his goals on the power play while being a key player in the shootout. The Texas native found twine three times with Corpus Christi in the shootout.

Following his time with the IceRays, Gerhard was acquired by the Mudbugs, where he spent the rest of his final season of junior hockey. The 6-foot-3 lefty played in 40 regular season games, recording 12 goals and 28 assists for Shreveport. He registered a point per game with Shreveport, ranking him as one of the top scorers on the team. While playing with the Louisiana-based team, Gerhard notched one game-winning goal and three power-play tallies.

In the postseason, Gerhard was a playmaker for the Mudbugs, notching seven points in five playoff games. He scored one goal and produced six assists during that postseason run, ranking among the team's top scorers.

His work on the ice in his age-out season earned him recognition. He was named a Top Prospect for the annual Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division roster. The age-out skater recorded an assist during the two-day event at the USA Hockey Arena. Alongside being named a Top Prospect, Gerhard was recognized as a South Division Star of the Week on January 5, 2026.

The Allen, Texas, native split time between the Corpus Christi IceRays and Amarillo Wranglers during the 2024-25 season. The ‘05 forward started his second year in the NAHL with the Wranglers. He laced up in 20 games for Amarillo, registering 18 points in that span. He tallied seven goals and notched 11 assists with the Texas-based team. Gerhard would then be acquired by the Corpus Christi IceRays, where he would play 45 games with the team. He lit the lamp eight times while recording 12 assists. With Corpus Christi, Gerhard tallied four power-play goals and his first game-winning goal in his junior hockey career.

In his debut year in the NAHL, Gerhard played 49 games for Amarillo, notching nine points in his rookie season. He found twine four times and recorded five assists for the Wranglers.

For his NAHL career, Gerhard played 176 games, recording 109 points across the three seasons. He tallied 36 career goals and 73 career assists.

Endicott College might be a newer program, joining the college hockey ranks in 2015; however, the Gulls have become a contender year after year for postseason notoriety. The team has notched five NCAA tournament appearances since 2017.

Gerhard is one of eight members of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a college ice hockey commitment.
