Watertown Captain Gudridge makes NCAA Commitment

The Watertown Shamrocks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Jordan Gudridge has committed to play NCAA hockey for Gustavus Adolphus College in the MIAC.

“I decided on Gustavus because I believe it’s the place where I’ll continue to grow and develop, both as a player and as a person,” stated by Gudridge.

The 5-foot-11 blueliner from Colorado, Gudridge, will join the Golden Gusties in Minnesota this upcoming fall. Gudridge is a second-year NAHL veteran, skating in 103 contests over two seasons. This past year, the ‘05 skater laced up in 52 games during the regular season. He scored seven goals and registered 26 assists for the Shamrocks. He led defensemen on his roster in goal-scoring and ranked as one of the top blueliners on the scoresheet with 33 points. Four of his tallies in the regular season were notched on the man advantage. Thanks to his work on the ice, the captain helped to lift his organization to their first postseason. In his three playoff games, Gudridge recorded two assists for the Shamrocks.

Thanks to his work on the ice, the Greenwood Village, Colorado, native was selected as a Top Prospect for the annual Top Prospects Tournament. He represented the Central Division, and he registered two assists for his team.

Gudridge had a special experience playing with the Shamrocks in his age-out season because he played alongside his younger brother and starting goaltender, Mason.

“Jordan came to our team with a ton of junior hockey experience, and that was a major part of our success this season,” said Casey Kirley, the head coach and general manager of the Shamrocks. “While known as an offensive, puck-moving defenseman, he also played with a lot of intensity every night. Jordan is a great leader and teammate, and we were fortunate to have him as a captain this season. Gustavus is getting a great player, competitor, and person.”

Prior to joining the Shamrocks, Gudridge played in his home state and laced up for the Colorado Grit during the 2023-24 season. The 5-foot-11 righty played in 48 games in the South Division, logging 25 points for the team. He scored seven goals and produced 18 assists for the Grit. The ‘05 blueliner notched his first and only game-winning goal and short-handed goal during his NAHL career.

The Colorado native is not the only Shamrocks skater to commit to the Golden Gusties program for this upcoming season. He will join Joe Rice in the State of Hockey. He shares more on his excitement to continue to skate with Rice.

“One thing that made this decision even more exciting was the chance to continue playing with Joe. We built a great friendship over the past season, and having a familiar face in a new place will be great for us both.”
