New Hampshire Forward Anctil makes NCAA Commitment

The New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Tanner Anctil has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of the Southern Maine in the Little East.

The 20-year-old from Lewiston, Maine, Anctil will join the Huskies in Portland, Maine, this upcoming fall. The 6-foot-1 lefty has skated 134 NAHL games with the Mountain Kings over three years. The ‘05 forward started his junior hockey career in the NA3HL as a New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings player, skating in 18 games during the first half of the season. Anctil notched 16 points, tallying seven goals and nine assists for the New Hampshire program. Two of his tallies were scored in decider fashion while two were notched on the man advantage. From his time with the NA3HL program, he registered a +12 rating.

Following his big performance with the Jr. Mountain Kings, the 6-foot-1 forward earned a call-up to the NAHL team. He finished out his rookie season playing in 25 contests, logging 11 points. He found twine four times and produced seven assists in that span. Once again, he registered two game-winning goals and two power-play tallies with the East Division team.

Moving into his second season of junior hockey, Anctil laced up in 61 contests, just one game shy of playing every regular season and postseason contest with the Mountain Kings. The Maine native lit the lamp three times while securing eight assists for New Hampshire. One of his three tallies was scored in game-winning fashion for the East Division team.

Heading into his final season of junior hockey, Anctil played in 48 contests wearing a New Hampshire sweater. The ‘05 skater scored seven goals and made six assists for the Mountain Kings. Anctil produced one game-winning goal and one power-play goal.

Anctil is one of 12 members of the New Hampshire Mountain Kings to make a college ice hockey commitment.
