Tuesday Thriller: New Hampshire Responds to Maine’s Four-Goal Push and Skates to a Win

Maine 4 @ New Hampshire 5 - Heading into this contest, the Maine Nordiques were looking to respond to a weekend sweep by the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. The scoring opened at the Delta Dental Arena with the Mountain Kings striking first with two goals in the opening frame. First, Alex Gelhar finds the back of the net with 7:28 on the clock. Following him five minutes later was Tanner Anctil to give New Hampshire the two-goal edge into the middle frame. The Nordiques lit the lamp multiple times in the second period and showcased a big four-goal push. The scoring started with Dylan Chabrier finding the back of the net for the first time this season. Less than five minutes later, Aiden Farro would even the scoreboard for the Nordiques. In the final four minutes of the frame, Jack O'Brien and Marshall McCharles both scored for the Nordiques to give them the advantage heading into the final frame. In the last 20 minutes of regulation, the Mountain Kings were down by two goals. Midway through the frame, New Hampshire’s captain, Rogiero Cacciarelli, found twine to bring the score within one goal. Following him in the final minutes of the game, Gelhar tallied his second of the afternoon to even the scoreboard. With 1:07 on the clock, Mikhail Cherepanov seals the victory with a goal. The Mountain Kings skate to a 5-4 victory and now ride a three-game win streak.
