The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Luke Osborn has committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
“I am proud to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and further my education at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. I would like to thank God, my family, my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has helped me to get to this point,” said Osborn.
Osborn, 17, is in his first season playing junior hockey. The Columbia Station, Ohio native has recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in 24 games for the Ice Dogs so far this season. His best stretch came in mid-October, when Osborn found the back of the net in consecutive games against the Anchorage Wolverines and the Kenai River Brown Bears.
Prior to playing junior hockey, Osborn played youth hockey for both the Honeybaked and Cleveland Barons AAA programs.
“We are excited for Luke to secure a DI commitment so early on in his junior hockey career,” said Ice Dogs head coach Dakota Bell. “Every day, Ozzy shows up to the rink with a smile on his face and demonstrates a strong work ethic.”
“Ever since he was recruited to our Futures Camp last May, Luke has stuck to the process of becoming an Ice Dog and is now reaping the rewards. We are excited to continue the strong relationship with UAF and are glad that we will be able to watch Luke play his college hockey right here in Fairbanks, Alaska,” exclaimed Bell.
Osborn joins a growing group of players from the 2025-26 Ice Dogs roster committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey, bringing Fairbanks’ total to five players.
