Austin Goaltender Solomon makes NCAA DI Commitment

December 27, 2025

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Jack Solomon has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.

Hailing from the Show-Me State and looking to show off his moves between the pipes for the Falcons in the fall is second-year Bruins veteran Jack Solomon. The 6-foot-2 netminder has played in net for Austin in 11 games so far this season, securing eight wins in the blue paint. He spotlights a 2.97 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage this year. Some of his best performances this season have been against top teams in the Central Division. Solomon showed off his defensive dominance against the Bismarck Bobcats on December 5, 2025, with a season-high 53-save performance. The St. Louis, Missouri, native also helped his team secure a big win against the Aberdeen Wings on November 7, 2025, when he stopped 37 out of 38 shots on net, contributing to his team's victory in his third game back.

Last season, the ‘05 goaltender played in the blue paint in 43 games for the Bruins. He spotlighted a 1.86 goal-against average and a .927 save percentage. His dominance in between the pipes also featured him securing five shutout performances for the Bruins. Solomon is also a product of the T1ER, playing with the CarShield program for two years. He will also join fellow teammate Zander Lipsett at the Air Force Academy in the fall.

“It means so much to me to be able to continue my career at the collegiate level,” Solomon said. “It’s been my dream ever since I was a kid.”

Solomon explains more about why skating with the Falcons was the next step in his career.

“I decided on Air Force because it checked off so many boxes that I was looking for in a college, from the campus, the facilities, education, and their coaches.”

Head coach of the Bruins, Steve Howard, shares his excitement for Solomon’s collegiate future.

“We are excited for Jack and his family on his commitment to the Air Force Academy! He has worked extremely hard, and he will continue to do well at the Division I level. Coach Serratore is a former goalie, and I know that Jack is going to love playing for him.”

Solomon is one of three members of the Austin Bruins to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
