Amarillo 1 @ New Mexico 2 - A dominant first period led the New Mexico Ice Wolves to win their best-of-three series to open up the season against the Amarillo Wranglers. Anton Malyshev was the first to score with an unassisted goal. Later in the period, a big scrum put the Ice Wolves on the power play, where Anton Malyshev buried his second of the game to double his team’s lead. The second period was dominated by the Wranglers, outshooting their opponents, 21-12. Tyler Tsoukalas took advantage, scoring a shorthanded goal to cut the lead in half. The Wranglers headed into the second intermission down 2-1. The third period was very uneventful, with the Ice Wolves holding onto their lead until the final whistle. A late attempt to pull the goalie resulted in no success for the Wranglers as the Ice Wolves' netminder, Gavin Schaahn, made some big stops to secure the win. The Ice Wolves improve to a 2-1 record, winning the third and final game of this season series. They will be back in action on Friday to take on the Oklahoma Warriors.

Northeast 2 @ New Hampshire 3 - The New Hampshire Mountain Kings remain undefeated as they take down the Northeastern Generals in a close victory. The first period was the most eventful, with each team finding the back of the net twice. Rogiero Cacciarelli and Ben Dias lit the lamp for the Mountain Kings while Braydon Hudtloff and Vinny Ipri both scored on the power play. The game headed into the second intermission tied at two. With just under five minutes left in the second, Tanner Anctil scored his first of the season to put the Mountain Kings back on top heading into the third period. The Generals outshot the Mountain Kings 10-5 in the third, but none of their chances were good enough to sneak by the goaltender Gavin Weeks. New Hampshire held on to win the game and improve to 2-0 on the season. The Generals have now lost two close games against the Mountain Kings and will be looking to bounce back on Friday against the Johnstown Tomahawks.

Elmira 2 @ New Jersey 9 - The special teams were on display for the Elmira Aviators as they took on the New Jersey Titans. The Aviators won their first meeting last night, so New Jersey needed to have a better showing tonight. Arseniy Zarikhov scored twice in the first period, and Ryan Kowalsky found the back of the net in the second. Jack Kholman responded to put the Aviators on the board, but the Titans answered right back with a goal from Tate Pecknold. The third period saw an explosion of scoring. After Jack Kholman buried his second of the night to make it 4-2, the Titans completely seized control of the momentum and never let go. Five straight goals closed out the third period, leading to a dominant 9-2 final. The Titans looked far better tonight than they did yesterday, and they evened the season series with the Aviators heading into next week’s matchup with the dominant Maine Nordiques.
