Springfield Alternate Captain Ganz makes NCAA Commitment

August 27, 2025

The Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Logan Ganz has committed to play NCAA hockey for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the WIAC.

The 5’10 lefty from Freeburg, Illinois, Ganz will skate with the Blugolds in the fall. Ganz is a third-year veteran of the NAHL. This past season, Ganz served as the Alternate Captain of the Jr. Blues. He hit the ice in 59 games, tallying 20 goals and 25 assists for a team-leading 45 points on the year. Four of his goals were named the decider in contests, while three goals were scored on the man advantage. Ganz was named as a Top Prospect for the Midwest Division roster at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. While there, Ganz found the back of the net and made an assist during the two-day tournament.

For Ganz’s 2023-24 campaign, the ‘04 skater hit the ice in 50 contests for Springfield. Ganz found the back of the net 10 times and notched eight assists for the Jr. Blues. One of his goals was named the decider in a contest, while two goals were scored on the man advantage. His debut season saw him hit the ice in 20 games for the Odessa Jackalopes. He scored two goals and made three assists for the Jackalopes roster.

Ganz is an example of the ladder of development that the NAHL promotes. Prior to playing in the League of Opportunity, the Illinois native skated for CarShield in the NAPHL.

Head Coach of the Jr. Blues, Todd Pococke, explains what it means to see Ganz take that next step in his hockey-playing career.

“We're very excited for Logan and his commitment for next season. Logan brought tons of speed and a complete level that will be missed as he has been a great piece over the years to our organization. We wish nothing but the best of luck to Logan and his future!”

Ganz is one of nine members of the Springfield Jr. Blues to make a college hockey commitment.
