“I think our veterans who are coming back are phenomenal people. They're ready for a fresh new look here,” said Head Coach of the Mallards, Westin Michaud. “It's a complete transformation and ultimately comes down to us having the energy every day to make sure we do the right things and hold each other accountable. That's what we're super excited about. And the organization is going to have a phenomenal year.”
Westin Michaud will head into his first year as a bench boss in the NAHL. He knows the league very well because he once laced up as a player with the Corpus Christi IceRays. Michaud knows and understands what it takes to be successful in the NAHL and is hoping to guide the next generation of hockey players this upcoming season. Last year, he led the Austin Ice Bats in the NA3HL to their organization's best record and is looking to do just the same this year with the Mallards.
