Austin Forward Malkhassian makes NCAA Commitment

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Luc Malkhassian has committed to play NCAA hockey for Middlebury College in the NESCAC.
The 5’11 righty from Toronto, Ontario, Canada is heading to skate with the Panthers in Middlebury, Vermont in the fall. Malkhassian is a first-year skater in the NAHL. In his debut year, he was one of the top scorers on the Austin Bruins roster. He tallied 30 goals, while making a team-leading 52 assists in 68 games played. Malkhassian ranked second on his team in goals (30) and points (82), trailing behind fellow Toronto native, Alex Laurenza. The Canadian was crucial to the Bruins' roster when it counted. He notched 10 game-winning goals on the season. Additionally, he featured a +31 rating on the year. His offensive dominance earned him a spot at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament on the Central Division roster. He found the back of the net for Team Central.
Additionally, the ‘05 skater had the special opportunity to hit the ice this season with his little brother, Evan Malkhassian, this past year.
Malkhassian is not the only NAHL player to head to Middlebury College in the fall. He will be joined by Landon Brownlee from the Rochester Jr. Americans, John Halverson from the Wisconsin Windigo, Caden Morgan from the Corpus Christi IceRays, Tyler Wishart from the St. Cloud Norsemen, and James Schneid from the New Jersey Titans.
Head Coach of the Bruins, Steve Howard, shares his excitement for Malkhassian’s next step in his hockey playing career.
“We are beyond excited for Luc and his family on his commitment to Middlebury College! He had a record-breaking year, and he was one of our leaders. Luc was an ‘all situations guy’ for us, and we look forward to watching him continue to do that at the college level. Middlebury is getting an outstanding hockey player and an even better person!”
Malkhassian is one of 11 members of the Austin Bruins to make a college ice hockey commitment.
